Yesterday was a blur of activity as the kids got used to the new surroundings. In class, we introduced the various key topics that form the curriculum scaffolding for the camp:
- The difference between natural resources and finished goods
- How natural resources are transformed into finished goods
- Money and banking (Kinder Dollars and Kinderbank)
- Why work is necessary. In terms of exploring the complex question of why work is necessary, we have only scratched the surface by explaining and demonstrating the relationship between work and earning money.
We are looking forward to today as we explore the concept of a budget with the children. It is going to be an interesting class with a few twists and turns. We won’t spoil the surprise but if your child had a class today, you might want to ask her how her day went.
